In these early day of writing, it’s more important to build a healthy, sustainable writing routine than it is to achieve a particular word count.

Just like exercise, if you jump in too fast and do too much, you’ll burn out and kill your potential before you even really have a chance to begin.

If you’re new to narrative writing, take 2-3 weeks to start small and build up to an hour of writing.

ASSIGNMENT: Build up to one hour of writing.

If you’re new to writing, start with 15 minutes of writing, then use the remainder of your hour productively in other ways (like continuing to flesh out your Novel Matrix plan and reading fun books). Every three days, increase the length of your writing session by 15 minutes until you can work up to that hour.
